3 1/2 Months to Go!

To My Darling, Sophia:

You're mom and I were able to shop for your crib already, as well as a lot of cute clothes I'm hoping you'll like. I'm sure you'll look super cute in it - especially since I picked it out myself. Well, of course your mom helped but everybody knows I'm the fashion guru in the family (don't tell your mom).

We got home around 11PM, but was too excited to see the crib to sleep so we assembled it (see image below) and just stared at it until about 4AM.

You can see daddy assembling your crib below:

Consulting the user manual:

...and finally, the crib was all ready.

I must say we did a pretty decent job setting up your first bed.

And oh, we were able to get the scanner from Angkong and Ama's house so we now have clearer shots of the ultrasound:

Take a look at the alien version:

Sophia Isabelle T. Ng

Turns out, you're going to be a daddy's girl:) Had our second ultrasound last Wednesday, and honestly, we weren't expecting to learn about your gender this early - nor imagined that we would see you moving inside your mom's big belly for the first time. We were very emotional when we saw you for the first time - mommy cried, actually.

Check out our first pictures of you:

I can't wait for you to come out. Your mom and I can't wait to love and take care of you.
4 1/2 months to go!

Your mom and I spent the whole day today shopping online for your stuff. We already found the perfect stroller, bottles, sterilizers, etc., for you at Amazon.com. Don't worry, daddy and mommy will make sure you get the best care as soon as you come out.

That's all for now. Daddy has to check on mommy:)

Love you, Sophie!

Entry # 3: Hello Jeff Jr.

Your lolo and I accompanied your mom this morning to Makati Med for her first Ultrasound session. It's actually the first time we all saw you - although you were very very small, and all that was seen is your heart and the contour of your mom's womb.

These were our first photographs of you:

There you go:) To be honest, I actually missed hearing your heartbeat for the first time. Went downstairs while your mom and lolo was waiting at the doctor's office. When I went back, your mom was done already. I honestly didn't know that we were allowed inside since the sign at the door said "only ultrasound patients are allowed inside." Now I know better, and will never miss another ultrasound again - especially the next one; when we'll know if you're a boy or a girl. Wouldn't miss that for the world.

Your mom has been barfing all night. She's here beside me now asking why I'm hiding my blog from her. Well, I'd rather keep this between the two of us. There are some other photos and videos I have yet to upload here in my blog. That'll give me something to do tomorrow while your mom's having lunch with her best friends.

Gotta sleep:)

Entry # 2: The Morning After

Man, if feels good to finally have an entry on my blog. It's your mom's first day back in the office and, honestly, I'm kinda relieved that the flu season's over. I just ate lunch your mom had Ga (your mom's household help) prepare for me. As always, it's delicious! Remind me to show you my before and after pictures, okay? I definitely would have kept them, especially if I turn out to be 200lbs by the time you're reading this.

Got to work, son/daughter! Later!

8:51PM

Back in the office. Contemplating on whether I'm going home to your mother tonight. There's still a few things I have to finish here, and your mom just finished dinner with your lolo. She's probably not in the mood right now...gassy and all. Might as well arrive after a few hours.

You may be wondering where your dad came from. Was at Ortigas Center for a meeting with 20th Century Fox - hopefully by the time you're reading this, it still is a client of UM - if I'm still with the company. If not, I couldn't care less. Anyway, your Aunt Chinkey and I parked right beside The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in Emerald Avenue. It's really good to be back in Pasig. It's a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of Makati - where your dad's office is situated.

Remind me to bring you and your mom here when we get the chance - or as soon you're old enough to remind me, or drink coffee; whichever comes first. I wished I could've dropped by for a mocha IBC, but your aunt Chinkey and I was in a hurry to get back to the office.

Anyway, I'm just killing time since my boss is nowhere to be found. Hopefully, your mom's in good mood when I get home.

Entry # 1: My Attempt at Blogging

After 10 long years, I've finally gathered enough courage to start a blog page. I really don't know what exactly this is going to be about; and I'm such a bad writer. Well...not exactly. See I've been quite active in the writing sphere during high school - even won one or two contests while I was at it. It's just that the older I grew, the lesser there was to say.

Anyway, the reason I mustered enough courage to start this nonsense is for my son - or daughter - who's on his way out of my girlfriend - and, hopefully, soon-to-be-wife's womb on October (2010). This would basically chronicle the long journey to fatherhood which I AM excited about (note to self).

Would you look at that...My very first blog post. This blog site MIGHT work, after all. So many improvements, but so little time to do them. Well readers (if there will be any), watch out for more improvements in the days/weeks/months/year/years to come.

Oh...and if blogging becomes obsolete by the time I finally pimp this site out, time-travelling would have been invented by then. Go figure.

To my son/daughter:

Josh / Jeff / Samantha,

I'm not quite sure what the future holds for me and your mom. Your dad's kind'a hoping all ends well between your mother (who's sleeping like a baby now, by the way). She's been down with the flu for more than a week now, and we're both worried that something might have gotten terribly wrong. She sensed something wrong when she wasn't her usual binging self.

Anyhoo, you're about 7 weeks now and we'll get our first glimpse of you next Saturday (Ultra Sound). We're both so excited since this is both our first time (obviously), and we both don't know what to expect. You're mom's never looked prettier - that's why I think you're a girl (if you turn out to be a dude, son, skip to the next paragraph, and pretend you never read this), and I'm sure you're going to be the prettiest girl the world has ever seen.

It's going to be a long day for daddy tomorrow at the office (God, I'm still not used to the idea of being called "daddy", but I'll get used to it). Oh, and internet advertising is just on it's way so if you're reading this and it does pick up, I must be one of the top dogs of an internet advertising agency or...better yet...I must have started my own company by now. Anyway, I gotta run. You're dad's boss is a machine, and daddy must get his rest. I wish your grandparents had access to the internet back then. It must be great to read what they've gone through before your dad was born. Might have understood them more.

Well...goodnight. Write to you soon. Your mom and I both love you and are excited to carry you in our arms.
